It seems that it’s a rare piece at least if the parts books are correct. I found a part #379656 with a 27/32”-20 thread listed. Does that sound correct? Also used on 3/4 ton 3600 models in case you are searching for a serviceable used one. There is an NOS pair of them offered GM# 379656 * in this eBay ad. A number of others offered in singles and multiples, but this one seemed to be the best price deal. Should fix your buddy right up!  *NOTE: As usual the eBay ad descriptions lack complete info on models/trucks these were used on.
