I have a 1950 1/2 ton truck. I have searched and seen diagrams of how the defroster duct attaches to the sheet metal but I cannot figure it out. The two duct I have are two different size which I believe is correct. They both have one sheet metal clip and one hole for a screw. I have looked under the dash and just do not see how and where the sheet metal clips attach? Can someone post a picture of the ducts mounted in place? There does not seem to be a feature for the clips to slide onto. I should note that my truck never had a heater or the ducts. I am installing one of the deluxe heaters.

Thank you that is clear. I thought of that but thought it may interfere with the trim if it is mounted in that way. I guess the trim should fit without any issue.
The windshield trim fits over the opening, and has a slot in it to direct the air to the windshield. Like Twin Jimmys said, use a short screw.
