Is there a lubricant I can spray on them? Or is that just the way they are? | | | | Joined: May 2015 Posts: 9,830 Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums | Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums Joined: May 2015 Posts: 9,830 | They're going to get rusty no matter what you do. You might spray some light oil on them. The downside of that is the oil will collect dust which will get between the leaves and wear them more than if left dry. But if you don't drive much, that's not a big concern.

If you want them to look good spray them with Rust-Oleum Rusty metal primer. Then spray them with black satin enamel . They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. After disassembly, painting and separating the leaves with plastic liners the springs look new and the ride is noticeably better. RonR
