Hello all! This is my first post. Hope to spend alot of time on here!

I posted this on another site as well, I hope someone can help me with this.

I just laid down a deposit on an old grain truck I found in a farmers field. The interior is shot. (mice have been in it) Supposedly it ran up until 4 years ago, when they parked it. (farmer died) Anyway I think its a 1949. It has the Maple Leaf badges on the side of the hood. I got a bunch of numbers off the tags on the door frame. I was hoping someone could help me figure out what the heck this thing is.

Thanks!

welcome to the garage repo, we like pictures here - one way to tell for sure what you have is visual details

the numbers are CDN, so you won't find much info on the net, except folks here will tell ya the Maple leaf was based on the GMC

I think the 1683 should be a 2.5T w/ 174" w.b.
S/N: 9[year= '49] 1683[model= 2.5T cab/chassis] 00149 - the production sequence number

the rest of the codes will be near impossible to decipher for CDN production

If you do a search in the forums for "Maple Leaf" you should find a thread called "Maple Leaf help". I got lots of help and info for my '36 which might just help you too.
