Just joined the forum after hearing about CCCOE's build. Been a Chevy/GMC fan most of my life and have had several GM vehicles and projects over the years, mostly squarebodies.
My newest is a early 50's COE. I've looked for one of these for years but the right deal never came around until recently. The sheet metal is pretty much all there and in good shape, not much rust. The original running gear is gone and the frame has been cobbled up, so I'll probably put it on a P20 chassis that I have.
I look forward to !earning from this forum, hopefully being able to share some information, and hanging out with the gang (like I need another reason to sit on my butt instead of getting out in the shop).
Extend your wifi to cover your shop so you can take a tablet or a notebook out there and then you're covered!
Post four more time and then we can take you off probation (we'll know after 5 posts that you're not a bot or a troublemaker). Pictures of your COE?
Regards, John

Welcome to the ‘Bolt! I Also love COE’S and “COCOE’s build but it’s way too big of a project for me.
We would love it, if you could tell us a bit about your truck, its history, your goals and what you may have already accomplished on restoring your truck.
And of course we ‘Bolters love pictures, so please post some. There are instructions for posting images on the left margin on this page. Again, welcome!

I agree that COCOE's truck is a big project, I wouldn't have the confidence to attempt a project like that. I worry about basic body work, mating two cabs is way beyond my comfort zone. Luckily my sheet metal is pretty good and shouldn't require too much work.
Measuring the P20 chasis I have, it looks like it won't take too much fabrication to mount the cab to it. It's a 3/4 ton single rear wheel configuration, but I have a C30 rolling chassis that I may swap the dually front hubs and rear axle from to make the COE a dually. I'll have to get the cab mounted and figure out a bed before I decide. I'm thinking about a stepside pickup type bed, or something resembling an old wrecker bed (without the booms).
The P30 donor has a fresh 350 and I think a 700R4 transmission. I have the whole truck, so will probably try to use most of the wiring harness from it (the engine has a throttle body injection so I will need the computer).

SDJunkMan, great looking truck! I’m not sure when the title changed on my post but my build is on a P 30 frame not a C 30. The width is good with out mods but the steering took me a long time to get right. Good luck with your build and if you get stuck reach out I will help if I can. And welcome, COCOE
Very cool SDJunkMan!
Never saw many of those COE trucks in North Central PA area when I was growing up. My Dad was a truck driver. remember a lot of the cracker boxes.
