Starting to dig into my 48 4400 now again. have frame painted, front axle back in after king pins, and spring links all new. My steer link, from pitman to first wheel arm seems to be missing some parts. Shouldn't there be a spring and that insert into it at Both ends? One end didn't have those parts, and was adjusted way in to make it tighten up to ball. I got a price on a rebuild kit from Moog for $71,yikes. And that's only if they can find one if retailer orders it. Anyone know if the smaller trucks all have same link? Does anyone have a used link they'ld sell me or the guts of each end? Or at least one end? Mostly need that spring and insert, my cups and the balls seem OK. Let me know here or at [email protected]
