I think I have come up with winner or very close to one. This pays tribute to the ranch family who gave me the truck and the fact they were the true Lonesome Dovers, homesteading and starting a cattle ranch in MT.
K lazy E is the ranch brand still in use. The top graphic is the Lonesome Dove brand with the Latin motto.
Will need some centering and shading to make the letters stand out, but this is the idea, I think, and I hope.
Ferris, That's a cool design and think a great tribute to the ranch family you mentioned. I have now knowledge, so just wondering out loud if you have to get permission from the holder of the registered ranch brand to use it since it still in use??? Some folks are particular about letting others not directly associated with the ranch use their brand.

The owner of the registered brand is hugely supportive of me using it. I am a little nervous about doing a mirror image of it because it changes the brand, but I felt it needed symmetry. I have another design below that eliminates that problem. Ultimately I will let my friend who's siblings are running the ranch choose which she likes better.
If I get to vote, I like the second one better. The mirrored brand caught my eye immediately as something that would be weird. Cool idea.

Figured I would try a magnet first to see if I like it. Place that does magnet signs says its too small of area and will probably break. So I am getting some made in vinyl to see if I like it.
Just noticed this post. Quite ironic.on the brand. Although probably not both being in MT. I have no stake in this brand other than putting it on the truck. Here is what I got the other day from the vinyl guy.
The top part of the design, the Latin words, could be be above the flat part of the door, on the lower curve between the body line below the door handle and above the lower portion of the door.
Yeah, rear window might be nice. Maybe mock it up in the same shade of blue as the body and see how it looks? At least it's just vinyl, if you don't like it you can take it off.
