Had been meaning to do this, and T-Doug prompted me to get on with it already! "That would be great. It's nice to know you have neighbors."

So, let's do it! Gonna use this map I found to show sections of our beloved state; and another (below) showing the highways (for inquiring minds not familiar). The section map doesn't show LA (Lower Alabama) and although the Southern Side Lot does have a spot for Florida Bolters, we can include those folks in here, if they so desire.

++++++++++++++++++

SECTION A

SECTION B
CBall - Huntsville
oldbolter - Near Huntsville
John Milliman (aka The Boss) - Skyline, AL
Peggy M (aka The Bosses Boss grin ) - Skyline, AL

SECTON C
49fastback - Hoover

SECTION D

SECTION E
T-Doug - Montgomery
Opelika Tom - Opelika

SECTION G

SECTION H (Not shown - "LOWER ALABAMA" - Florida panhandle)

SECTION I (Not shown - "ALABAMA HIGH" - Tennessee southern border)
Hotrod Lincoln - 5 miles north of Ardmore AL. Just over the TN/AL boarder at I-65 at Exit #6.

++++++++++++++++++

You CAN get there from here-ah. (That was a Maine accent wink ) And you can't get HERE without saying so below. wave

Just came across something interest. Any big ALs know of this event?

Mark your calendars for the 1st Annual Victory Tabernacle Car Show on August 26th!

North of Huntsville.

Pastor Taylor has several Stovebolts in the Gallery forum.

1951 GMC 453 Series 3-Ton Army Truck and 1963 Chevy C60 -- "Big Red Chevy"

Cool!

I can move to it's own post in SoBo if need be.

No kidding? Ha. That'll work (IMHO). Would you be in Section A or B??

It is for "surrounding areas." We won't require valid AL drivers license*; or a passport. shake (Hmmm ... that would be fun. A Stovebolt passport so people can get *stamped* for the places they have been with their Bolt. Opps ... Good Idea Fairy alert. dang - John's not around. not me )

*I still have my AL drivers license. hehehe

CBall ... want me to include you in that list? You'd be in Section C?

I remember taking my Dad and Mom up to Huntsville (from Warrior) back in the early '70s. My Dad had a blast, especially on the "zero-grav" swing. smile

Got it!

If there are some other events (truck type) around Huntsville, post 'em. It'll be neat to see what pops up here.

Anybody know any Bolters in Area D? Looking for a contact in what I would describe as “west central” Alabama. Or someone near Columbus, MS might work just as well.

Peggy, I'm about 35 miles northwest of Huntsville, so "north central" is probably the best choice.

We have you in there Jerry (in section I). You were the second one of the list, and we had to create a LA and an UA (Lower and Upper Alabama) to accommodate that group. "LA" I had heard of having lived in Milton FL for a bit. A bunch of folks around there called it LA. thumbs_up

As an Alabama gal, I liked the idea of still being "Home in Alabama" ... grin (However, the no state taxes was worth the stay in FL for the short term.)

You bet. Went to a social event a very long time ago. I requested if the band could play "Sweet Home Alabama" --- they didn't know it. I was flabbergasted. Back home, that was one of the songs you turn the radio up real loud when it comes on. (You can tell it was a LONG time ago by the reference to a radio! wink Even that start of the song is memorable. "One, two, three .. Turn it up."

I just thought that was so cool to be that much of a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. grin kades51, indeed. In Alabama, veering off the path keeps us lively. Donald, we are grately for being LIVELY at "our age." wink

The reasoning behind the amount of tags....every few years, Mississippi changes the design of their tags. Long as I renewed my tag, I automatically got the new designed tag. Take the old on off, hang it on the shop wall. Years ago they had it so you could only get a 6-digit personalized plate, and then late 80's/early 90's, that changed it so you could get a 7-digit.

Two tags are out 'on loan'. One's at the teenage grandson's house. The other, (and Peggy, you should appreciate this), is hanging on the grand-daughter's dorm wall at The University of Alabama. WITH the understanding I get both of them back one of these days. At least both of them have some culture when it comes to music.
