Plenty of time and effort spent here. Trying to maintain the patina look to the bed. The entire lower 8” needs to be replaced as well including the lower flange. Video

Pretty happy with the repair thus far. Next I’ll install it on the bed and trim the bottom edge after the bed wood gets installed. Then I’ll weld a piece of angle iron along the bottom edge to make a flange that supports the bed wood front edge. I’m not worried that the repair isn’t invisible.
