Update: Guess what?! I GOT IT!!!

You can see a picture here (front side) or here (back side) .

I uploaded some other recent pictures on the main page, too, which you can see here .

Thank you all SO MUCH for the help and support on this! Couldn't have done it without you.

Next step will be to go hop in line at the courthouse and get the title switched over and new Texas plates for the old girl...

Take care,
Corey

Don't have any spare original big truck mirror arms left. Been alot of guys needing them lately. You already have the left bracket. That's it below the radio antenna. All you need is the arm, & mirror head. I looked at all of your pictures, & I really like your truck. You've done a very good job. Do you plan to replace the wood floor, in the bed.

Spanky,

Thanks for the compliments and info! I guess I had overlooked that mounting bracket. I think it's funny that the truck has the factory radio delete plate but has an antenna installed. ohwell

One thing's for sure, once I get the arms and mirror heads, I'll have lots of bolt holes to fill in. wink

I do plan to replace the wood bed after I get a few other to-do items taken care of like the broken step, replaced the door window glass and weatherstripping, etc.

Good job on your truck, I have the same situation with mirrors. Would it be to big a deal to buy repop mirrors and just extend the arms to the correct length for a 2 ton? Are the mirrors the same for a COE? A question to for you, I like your shifter - but I am curious, how does it shift? It looks to me like it would take all the feel of getting the gears out of it, does it? Mine has the brakit for the shifter, but buckit seats and the shifter is in between them, just curious how all that linkage makes it feel. I like the bench seat and think thats what mine had a one time. Once again sharp truck, good job.

Tom,

Shifter feel is pretty good, actually. The key, though, is to make sure that all of the access panels are bolted down fairly well, especially the doghouse panel. Since the remote shifter bolts to that panel, it wants to flex a bit when you're shifting (especially if you've been working on the engine and forgot to bolt the panels back down).

The shifter linkage looks kind of strange, especially when I had it out of the truck, but it works really well. And I get to have a full bench seat, of course.

Thanks for the compliments. I need to figure out how to mount the new license plates, now, since Texas is a two-plate state and I need to put a license plate light on the rear plate.

As far as mirrors go, I have read that the mirrors themselves are the same but the mounting arms are just WAY longer. As always, I could be wrong on that...
