There is power to the socket but it doesn't heat up the elements on the lighter itself. So either the socket is bad or the lighter element is bad, or both.
My question is will a 12 volt cigarette lighter (complete) work.

I have a 5 amp fuse on my lighter circuit and pulled the heating coil from the lighter to prevent the fuse from blowing if someone pushes in the lighter. 5 amps is plenty to run my phone charger or the 12 volt LED trouble light I keep under the seat.

I’m not super worried about it
I have never had issues with them in any vehicle I own
I do use it as a power port for charging phone
I never actually use the lighter
No fuse, big wire right to the +6 at the starter
The wire is the fuse - lol
