I am getting ready to slide my engine/tranny in and am at my last item. A clutch kit. My clutch is a 11". The engine is a 261. The good folks @ Napa say it should have a 12". Anybody out there seen anything like this before. I would imagine there is a model out there that used a 11". Maybe not a C-60. Something else? As usual thanks for all replys from the brotherhood!

I wonder if the flywheel was changed through the sands of time. To what, I don't know. I don't know what else used a 11". I'm sure someone out there does? As far as work I plan on hauling saw logs with it in northern Mn.

I like the 11" better unless you are going to handle some heavy loads or you or another driver are hard on clutches. The smaller one is softer & is easier on the trans. syncros.

I was not aware you could use an 11" or 12" clutch set on the same flywheel.

The later 270's had a different flywheel with 6 bolts attaching it to the crankshaft (instead of the earlier 4 bolt) - but I don't know how many p/plate bolts these had.

So your looking for a clutch from a 54 or newer engine, according to my clutch book in 57 all 3400, 3500, 3600, and 4000 series with a six cylinder engine used an 11" clutch, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 89 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 89 | Thanks for all the replys.
