Do the 1947-1953 Cabs, Doors, Hood, Front Fenders and Grills interchange between 1 ton and 3/4 ton trucks.

When shopping for parts or whole trucks remember to confirm the truck size yourself
Many 1-1/2 ton trucks are advertised as 1 tons online and in person and people are too lazy to research the door tag number before posting for sale

For Stovebolt categories, we consider Big Bolts to be: " For topics related to 1.5-ton and larger" ... now, how any of that relates to the OP's question, well, that may be for discussion in Paint & Body Shop. Will defer to those folks.....

Mike; when you answer yes does that mean a 1.5/2 ton cab, fenders etc are the same as a 3/4 ton? Thanks everyone for the help.

The cabs are the same for all sizes except for COEs.
The break point for hood and fenders is 1/2 ton thru 1 ton same and 1-1/2 ton and 2 ton the same. So you can’t use 1-1/2 ton or larger fenders and hood on a 1 ton or smaller truck.

Hi GWWirth
My apologies if it’s not yet clear as mud
I’ll try to explain it the best I know but also if you let us know what specifically you are trying to do we can be more precise to your situation

The cab only is common to all truck sizes except coe,

1/2 to 1 ton share cab fenders hood, basically all the sheet metal that looks the same is the same
Box parts are different lengths and some minor differences between the sizes
The bumpers all interchange however the 1 ton bumper is thicker than the 1/2 and 3/4 ton, the chassis is different for all three 1/2 , 3/4 and 1 ton so you can’t swap the bumper mounts, nor major suspension parts.

The 1-1/2 and larger share their larger counterparts sheet metal parts between them but it’s all bigger stuff and the chassis naturally all larger and very few parts are common to the smaller trucks except the engine itself and some nuts and bolts, etc.

Moving over to Paint and Body, where it'll be more on topic.

GWWirth,

Sorry to be a bit late to the conversation, but I think folks may be confused as your "title" asks about "Body differences between Big Bolts and 3/4 ton", but the actual question asks:

To hopefully clarify the replies given, maybe this better explains the info:

Neither 1 ton or 3/4 ton trucks are considered "Big Bolts", so 1947-53 Cabs, Doors, Hood, Front Fenders and Grills DO interchange between those sized trucks (along with the same items on 1/2 ton trucks). "2ManyTrucks" notes the exception involving "bumpers" which is important to know for these sized trucks.

"Big Bolts" (1.5 ton and above trucks not including COEs) for 1947-53 do share the same "Cabs and Doors" of 1/2 ton thru 1 ton trucks, but DO NOT share "Hood, Front Fenders, Grills or Front Bumpers" (plus related under hood and fender parts) with the smaller 1 ton and below trucks. "Big Bolt" fender, hoods, grills, bumpers and related under sheet metal front end parts are larger sized to match the larger chassis and those will not fit 1 ton and below sized trucks.

If it might help visualize the differences, check out this conversation I found with some pictures that may help see some of the differences.

Clear as mud???

I was answering your first question...are 1/2 thru 1 ton are the same, "YES" cab and front clip are the same.

Then wanted you to know Big Bolts are thought of as 1-1/2 and up trucks. Their front clip is not the same as 1/2 thru 1-ton.

Sorry for the confusion.
