I just had my entire exhaust system replaced on my 54 3100. It still sounds very loud, not just in the cab but outside also. I have not done any sound proofing to the cab. Years ago I needed a new muffler for my work van. One of my employees took it in and proudly came back with new Flowmasters. One drive in that thing and I had them yanked and quiet ones put on. Talk to the shop that did the exhaust system, that might be your best bet.

It's hard to describe. Where did you have them terminate the end of the exhaust???
If it's still in front of your rear axle like I can see in your photos from your signature line, extending out the back of the truck fully should help reduce your cab noise level.

My 54 has a "stock" system from Waldron's and all of the original rigid hard mounts for muffler and tailpipe are there. Exhaust is quiet, valvetrain....not so much.

You probably need a stock style muffler to preventing the "shiver me timbers" effect.
