Hello again everyone.

Could someone with a 39-40 GMC Chime in with the part number for their radiator? Looking for a drop in radiator for my surround. I've decided to use my GMC Doghouse instead of my 40 Chevrolet doghouse. Both my trucks were missing the radiator.

The GMC Master parts books are astronomical on eBay.

Do both have the filler neck on the right side? Do you consider right hand side passenger side?

For future reference, when looking up Auto parts anywhere, left and right hand are considered from the point of view of the driver sitting behind the wheel.

Driver side and passenger side are ambiguous if you consider some vehicles have the driver side on the right, like British cars, model t fords, and mail delivery vehicles.

While I agree, it's better to ask than assume.

Im having difficulty locating an aftermarket replacement. Seems like the Chevrolet originally was top fill vs a fill neck sticking out like the GMC. The GMC Doghouse mounting bolt holes are also narrower center to center than the Chevrolet doghouse.

Check into the 41-46 radiator. The parts book list it as a 2 15/32 inch core and 18 wide. The 47 is 19-11/16 wide.
Ebay has a about fifteen of them from $135-250.

One from Ebay

The side mounting brackets for your GMC (both 39 and 40)with the GMC engine were mounted at an angle. The Chevy's brackets are mounted straight. I do have a chev radiator in my 40, but had to transfer the GMC side mounts the the Chev radiator to make it work. I do not see any direct fit radiators on Ebay.
