Texas requires these to be indentified according to motor number. How can I find out for sure what year model this truck is?

The truck model-serial number tag should be on the right side cowl. Passenger side under the hood. This info is available in the "tech tips" section of the Stovebolt. A lot of Art Deco's, have had their ID tags removed, as they were only held on with screws.
Good Luck

My '39 has a replacement plate on the cowl that has a partial VIN, but apparently enough that AZ titled it that way. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 | Thanks guys. I found the part about the id plate being on the cowl but couldn't find the part about the motor number. Would this also be true about a '54 6100? The plate is on the door post but that is not the number that TxDot uses. Thanks again

The motor number is stamped (not cast) on the block at the back side of the distributor. It is DEA 621296. Can anyone tell me what I have? I run through all of tech tips and can't seem to find it.

Should be on the same side of the engine below the GM marking | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 338 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 338 | That will just tell you which engine you have. Without the VIN tag you won't know the year of the truck.
If you're lucky the engine will be orginal, but it's no guarantee. | | |
