It looks like they softened the corners just a touch, but not enough that it would be an issue. I assume that's a cast piece, not stamped steel. They did a fantastic job. And your wife did too.
You should send them the before and after pics for their gallery. Good to know there's still a plating shop (somewhat) nearby. The one in Anchorage shut down years ago.

Very nice, I got mine done by a guy here in Florida in the space coast area and also did the colors with vinyl. It isn't cheap, the die cast pieces are labor intensive to re chrome.
