If you haven't been following ...

One of the favorite shows on the Stovebolter Calendar, the Tri-State Antique Truck Show [tri-state-antiquetruckshow.com] is this weekend (12-23 Sept) at Frederick County Fairgrounds -- 250 Fairground Rd, Clear Brook, VA 22624. Clearbrook is just a couple of exits north of Winchester, VA on I-81. "Tri-State" is a regional show for the American Truck Historical Society -- America's pre-eminent antique truck club and major advocate for our hobby. The regional show also raises a lot of money for local charities.

You can read a lot of banter, ribbing and other jocularity in the ODSS Forum (and find it confusing if you've yet to experience this confabulation of Middle Atlantic Seaboard Stovebolters... wink ), but the straight skinny is this:

The Winchester show is three days of friendship, fellowship, relaxation and enjoyment of up to 500 antique trucks from all around the region and of all sizes (from mini trucks to the largest tractor trailer units). Stovebolters from the region have long come to enjoy this show as a relaxed forum to camp together, enjoy a LOT of old trucks, share information and skills and help each other out. There is usually a project or two that gets worked on in "Camp Stovebolt" through which we socialize and share knowledge.

We've got the weekend agenda posted for more info.

Please join us if you can -- it's truly a fun show.

John,

I so wished to be able to try and come up that way and enjoy some of the renowned ODSS fellowship, knowledge and just plain old fun. Unfortunately life gets in the way as they say. Having just finished up the MBA Roundup, a great 1st time event if I do say so myself (it will be a little bit before we catch up to the Stovebolt HQ/ODSS gold standards - haha), and my return to "Grandpa" duties it's just not in the cards this year. frown

Maybe next year Skipper!

In the meantime, I'm going to keep tabs on the ODSS Evidence locker secret to see and read about all the fun I am going to miss. cry

Finally time to get to work on my Grandpa's (now mine) truck!
