I got a question, while stripping the paint off the 1950 3100 the rear fenders are junk. I need to know are all the rear short bed fender the same, 1947-1953?
Yes, 47-55.1 fenders are the same. When you say junk, what's wrong with them? Most can be saved.

How long did Chevy use those fenders on stepsides?
Ford used the 1953 fenders all the way to the 1980s.

Just from 47-55.1. 55.2 and later fenders were different style. Who gives a rip what Ford used? This is a CHEVY site.

Not sure, but will any of THIS help? It's from the Project Journals. Read all the way thru. He has lots of photos and maybe some will help.
(If not, Kevin can remove this post. )

Thanks Kevin and Peggy for chiming in here while I was out earlier today. "Spot On" in your replies and looks like great info provided to "Stove bolt Tom 1".
As this thread does seem to be all about "1950 fenders" (Chevy or GMC), I have moved it to the Paint and Body Shop for further conversation on fixing or maybe replacing "Stove bolt Tom 1's" less than new fenders.
