I don’t even know what to call it. The part that extends the brake drum out for the wheels. Does that come apart into two pieces? I’ve taken the nuts off it won’t come apart. I am in need of new drums, is there a source? I can’t find anything for 1 ton trucks.

Pics would help but if your talking about the front hub extension. Yes it separates from the drum itself. Is yours a dual rear wheel or single? There is currently no aftermarket drums available for 1 tons. John

I have read somewhere that 3/4 ton rear drums which are the same 12 inch size of the 1 ton front will fit but I don’t have personal knowledge of that. John

What year is this from for?
There is only one drum that might be available new for a AD 1 ton and it’s the front drum of the 53 model year
There is no source for the 1 ton front drum for huck brakes for 47-52 models

front 3754332 (12 inch ID - 8 stud)
front 3754314 (pilots onto knurled shoulder of bolt)
(classic parts claims to have on of the above, not sure which one)
Raybestos No. 2008R is listed as a reproduction drum for both above

I'm wondering if a little creative machining might be done on a somewhat similar 8 lug drum from a different make or year truck to make it fit the hub? A lot can be done with a spacer or some center hole modification, since the 8 lug wheel bolt pattern is shared by several makes. It might be possible to make a Ford, Dodge, International, or other make drum fit. The part doesn't know or care what it's bolted onto. Even a complete drum, backing plate, and shoe assembly might be possible to adapt.

You'll need to remove the spindle nut outboard of the bearing as well as removing the nuts that sandwich the drum between the halves of the hub to remove the drums.
