This Borg/warner 3 speed OD has an added plate to support the floor shifter.
Can this be applied to the original 3 speed?

The main case is the same, so the mounting bracket should fit. You might have to adjust the length of the shift rods.

Good to know! With the 3 speed hurst shift , there is an added block of metal
to the housing so it sits level in the truck I am assuming

The Hurst "Dual Pattern" 3 speed shifter was the same, regardless of what vehicle it was used with. Hurst sold an "adapter kit" to make it compatible with whatever vehicle it was used in. We called it "The Hearse"- - - -because it buried so many transmissions. Not the fault of the shifter- - - -mostly the idiot hanging onto the knob!

I have the new 3 speed shift installed but am about at the end of adjustment
on the linkage. It operates fine . Just a might short. Are longer ones available?
