Hello out there ! My 49’s engine is Blue, is there a name for that color so i can find matching spray .

Your engine should be grey, not blue.

Perhaps your engine came from a later model Chevy car whose engines were painted blue.

You are correct, but I'm going a different path. My truck came with a 235 engine painted blue that likely came from a car. That engine was locked up, so I found a replacement 235, also from a car and painted blue. I decided to keep the engine blue as an homage to the history of both the truck and engine. It just works for me. I used duplicolor engine paint for those parts that needed paint. The color was DE 1609 Chevy Blue. It closely resembles the original blue paint, but nothing will exacty match 60-70 year old, baked on paint. I throw this out there as an alternative, because so many of the engines came out of cars. OBTW, duplicolor has several different shades of GM blue engine paint, so you have choices if blue is acceptable.
