However, you can find them listed for early 60s trucks that wore identically-sized shoes. They look like the right parts to me.
Anyone know why this wouldn’t work? For instance the Carlson H7017 (same part number is used as retail house brand) looks to be a viable kit for the front.

I've bought lots of generic kits and they all seem to be the same thing...just sold under other names. Price doesn't look bad...$8 or so. That's about what I paid for the last one I bought and that was over 10 years ago.

Exception would be self adjusters used around 63. Even this self adjusting hardware works fine on earlier years. Lots of the same stuff around on other sedans and trucks with Bendix 11 by 2 brakes. It is all the same. I have even used the brake hardware from a 67 1/2 ton chevy on the front of a 49 1/2 ton F***. (Respectfully referred to as a Chevy F1.) | | |
