The hood springs on my 56 4400 are broken. Are the big bolt hood springs bigger(more heavy duty) than the non big bolt trucks? If so where can I get some?

Hy glamis4x4, the hood springs are the same from 55B to 57 regardless of the size of the truck, hope that helps.

ok, just wondering since the hoods are larger and thought they might need a heavier spring.

3000, 4000, 6000, 8000 & 10000 Series ALL take the same hood in 1955-2 & 1956 ('57 has the two ribs, other than that it's the same as '55/56), so springs and hinges are interchangable.

the fenders aren't "bigger" Chris, they're just a different shape around the wheel openings ... bigger cutouts - note they bolt up to the cab the same, as well as the grill opening, and have the same inners, etc .... and they have less "skirt" between the wheel and the door
