OK, this is a continuation of the 49 6400 Front Brake Hubs, but is now in this thread for the REAR Hubs. Some redundancies may occur, sorry about that, just catching up on the issues.
Thanks to Dan and others, I am making progress. I DID get the rear hub to turn, once I saw a previous thread about which way to turn the adjusters. https://ibb.co/bN7YtYz
Now, to get the Hub off. Thanks Dan for the Exploded View of the assembly! I will work on this. https://ibb.co/72pCCZL
Does anyone know if this: https://ibb.co/g3LmmTk just twists to loosen or what the heck here? ohwell
Also, does the Hub separate from the Drum first or as a whole assembly? https://ibb.co/sVk9Zgt If so, just use a crowbar to separate? headscratch

Timmer,

If you don't have a "Shop Manual" (1948-51), ya gotta get one soon my friend. grin

All the info for removing the axle after removing the "hub cap" and so much more begins on page 4-20 of the manual.

Check out this free to use online copy of the 1948-51 Shop Manual and see/read up on your rear axle disassembly.

Everything you need, including the instructions to remove/replace the brake drum are right there at your finger tips.

NOTE: The online info is great, but sometimes hard to keep handy when out actually doing the work. A reproduction paper copy of the shop manual is readily available for a whole bunch of vendors from just a little money if you shop around and is great for having right "in hand" when actually turning wrenches.

Keep us posted on your progress. thumbs_up

Dan

Dan, thanks, that's exactly what I needed. No more 'groping' around in the dark. I should be able to handle this from here. I will post pics of progress as I go along!
