Any hints or tips on how to separate the steering column from the box on a '36 hi-cab. My manual doesn't show this. It is not the kind with the roller type sector shaft....if that matters. You are thanked for any help.

#15115 05/12/2003 6:28 PM | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 234 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2000 Posts: 234 | For the '48-'55 these two pieces can't be easily disassembled, don't know if yours is similar. It's pretty much one unit, not to be taken apart.
Why do you want them apart? Folks have asked previously about removing the cab, but all you really need to do is unbolt the unit from the frame and slide the cab backward. (After removing the steering wheel, of course.)
