Picked up a set of Barker Chevrolet High Lift Intake Rocker Arms from an estate sale. NOS in box. Box says they fit 41 through 52 Std. Any info from you folks on these. Also picked up an AC fuel pump with the glass bowl that was NOS as well.

What's the rocker arm ratio? I'm adapting a 216 head to use stud mounted roller bearing rockers for a big block Chevy V8 with a 1.7:1 ratio.

Instructions don't say Jerry what the ratio is.

You can probably figure out the ratio with a couple of dial indicators and something like a deep socket to use as a pivot point. The intake valve to piston clearance can get really critical, depending on the lobe lift of the cam you're using, and which cylinder head you have. It's impossible for an exhaust valve to contact the piston.

Check the rocker arms for any markings they may have the ratio stamped on them somewhere

Rick,

The "Barker" high lift rockers were once discussed on Stovebolt in this many moons old thread, but nowhere in it does it mention a specific ratio.

A bit of further web searching came up with this old "Inliners" conversation that provides a bunch of details on the "Barker" rockers. The "Inliners" poster "stock49" mentioned that the ratio was 1.7 on the "Barker" rockers and provided a bunch of other info and references to "California" Bill Fisher's speed manual as a source of info too.

Here is a link to a Sample from the manual which is available as a reprint according to THIS LINK in case anyone is interested.

Hope this helps answer your question. wink
