I'm trying to decipher the stamped numbers on my rear axle, truck is a 1986 C10. Numbers are G345 and I cannot find this sequence on the decoding chart.

How many bolts does the rear cover have, is it oval, round or odd-shaped? Can the ring and pinion carrier assembly be unbolted from the front of the housing? Dana-Spicer axle assemblies like the Type 44 or Type 60 have a roughly triangular-shaped rear cover and the carrier is not removable from the front. Can you post some pictures?

It is a GM 8.5" rear diff., 10 bolt. I raised one wheel off the ground and did the count, ended up being a 2.73. Since I use this truck for towing, I pulled those out and put in 3.42 gears.
