I had the Burb (1958 Suburban, 1975-80 250 6 cyl) out for a drive today and it is acting like it has a vacuum leak. Looking under the hood I don't see anything obvious but the vacuum hoses are an assortment of sizes and are pretty old. What would be the best replacement vacuum hose? Seems like I remember a discussion about not using fuel line since it doesn't resist crushing from the vacuum.
Fuel hose would be fine, given the small size needed. The thickness to diameter ratio would be large enough to resist crushing. In larger sizes, like 5/16 or 3/8 inches, I would agree not to use fuel hose for vacuum service.
Per this, even 1/2" hose is rated for 24" HG vacuum. SAE 30R9 fuel hose is available about anywhere. I didn't find a vacuum rating for the possibly more common SAE 30R7 fuel hose.

I have fuel hose going to my vacuum wipers for the past four years and it works great.
