Ok Bolters. I have noticed a problematic trend lately of users coming to HiPo just to tear down others' builds for no reason other than they are different from what they would do.

This is going to stop going forward.

We are here as a communtity to enjoy building and modifying our trucks. There are many paths to that goal and some people will make decisions that others will not.

Constructive questions and discussion are encouraged, but showing up just to tell someone they are wasting their money or that the was GM designed it 75 years ago was better is not.

There are other places on the site for maintaining originality if that is your preference. Please help keep this forum positive and focused on performance upgrades.

EXACTLY!!
Keep your noses in YOUR forums and out of ours. Read the preamble to each forum to see what it includes. Guess no one wants a step by step on a 302 Ford into a 56 GMC or a 427 Ford Medium riser into a 55 Belaire but we have them. Both Greasy Spoon topics but not for purists, just happy owners.

ahem. Just for the record...

Evan ... A 302 Ford engine into a GMC *truck* (pre-88) is a perfectly acceptable topic for this forum and does not need to be moved to the 'Spoon. We don't draw a line at Mustang II front ends or rear ends or any other part, so why would we for an engine? The main thing is that it is going into a *truck* A Stovebolt truck, to be exact. And if we need that defined (again), on *this* web site, we (um, I as creator and owner of this site) have defined it as any GM *truck* (including ancestors) built prior to the 1988 model year. I do not define sedan deliveries or El Caminos as "trucks."

Anything to do with a *car* does indeed go to the 'Spoon.

Any performance mod, including putting a Ford engine into a Stovebolt, is perfectly at home in this forum as long as it is being done to a *truck.*

That being said -- a warning...

Heretofore, we have turned a blind eye to some discussions involving cars (Stovebolt era cars, for example, but also non GM cars). This ends now. Henceforth, we shall be implementing a Zero-Tolerance policy for car discussions anywhere other than the 'Spoon -- I don't care *what* engine it has. If you want to talk cars, go over to the VCCA site wink

Thanks

I appreciate the support, but this was intended to be more of a notice than a conversation. If you have something that you feel needs added then please send me a PM.
