| | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,805 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,805 | Any general purpose chassis grease will work, but be VERY stingy with the amount of grease you use- - - -too much grease has a bad habit of blowing out the pump seals. DO NOT use a pressure gun- - - -hand pump only, and only a little bit! Maybe every 6 months or so, depending on how much the engine is run.

I haven't seen a water pump that needs greasing in about 50 years.
