On our local .gov weather says:

Heavy lake effect snow will continue downwind of the Great Lakes. Multiple bands of intense snow squalls may produce areas of low visibility, blowing snow, and thus hazardous travel conditions from the eastern Great Lakes through the interior Northeast tonight into Sunday.

Are you all making out okay?

I just saw a road alert, I-96 west of me with 50 - 100 car pile-up. Here at my house we have had snow squalls on and off all day. Wednesday and Thursday I was at our lake cottage 200 miles north of home ,had to use 4WD to get in and out of the place and then drove home in 50 degree weather.

A couple weeks ago we had some good snow and a two big ice storms. (Lost power for a couple days, and my parents and brothers lost power for a week) But thankfully looks like warmer weather this week with some rain possible.

82 degrees tomorrow, 42 degrees Monday in southern Michigan. I expect everyone is experiencing the same. Add to that the ice, rain and wind and it is hard to get the spring projects going.

Is this the "Great Lakes affect" they talk about? Real up and down weather then?

Bummer for everything. Guess STOVEBOLTING is on hold, unless you can jump in when that window opens now and again. I know when our weather is bozo, John takes advantage when it's good. Even if it's just to get Charlie out and run an errand or two. (Always have errands.)

Guess no planting yet either. frown

Well ... if Spring doesn't get here, some kind of Summer will. 😕

Saturday the 15th we were overheating doing yard work - 80 degrees, today Monday the 17th it's 35 and snowing. Born and raised here, wouldn't want to live anywhere else, GOD made this whole country a beautiful masterpiece for HIS glory, we just have to open our eyes and see the beauty in each area.

It is easy to see the beauty of His creation, all around us, when looking. In all the seasons. Great attitude for the day ... and even the night.

I think Gdads51 is in your neck of the woods. He mentioned some snow come in over night. But just an inch. He said not that far from him, it was 12-19 inches. Wow ... it's the middle of April! grin

Peggy, thank you for the moral/spiritual support. I believe Gdads51 is in Missouri, I'm in Michigan but I guess it's all considered the Midwest. Heck, back when Michigan was a new territory it was considered the west. Hail, Hail to Michigan the champions of the west!

buckshot,

Actually currently in the southern 1/3 of Wisconsin visiting my Mom and family for about a week now.

Heading back to MO in a few days. Bringing back a '54 6400 hood from a fellow Bolter from Sheboygan, WI to another Bolter in the KC metro area since I am already making the trip.

Have a good one! wave

Dan

Sounds like the "Midwest Pony Express" is alive and well!
Safe travels, Dan, and please send some warm weather over the lake to us!

Thanks Tom!

Nothing "warm" from the WI zone for a while yet it looks like. Mother Nature not done with the cold stuff just yet it seems.

You don't really want me to encourage an increase in "the lake effect" do you Tom - LOL! brrrrr

Have a great weekend! thumbs_up

Dan

Brian,

I hope the hail wasn't too bad. When I talked to my better half last night, she said the hail that came down in the middle of the night Wednesday sound like boulders bashing the roof.

I am going to have to do a roof check when I get home next week and hope no real damage. big_eek
