Wanting to put a v8 and auto trans in place of the standard shift and 6, but...how do I know what will bolt up properly..have done minor mechanical work, but never swapped an engine. | | |

This year of pickup is as old as I am but it a little to new for me to be of much help. However, Chevys are probably the easiest to swap things around in and I know there are some guys around here that have done this and can tell you what to look for.

The tranny and bell-housing will bolt up with no problem. You will need to locate V-8 mounts, exhaust, linkages and a few other small odds and ends. 
There is enough good in the worst of us and enough bad in the best of us that it does not behoove any of us to criticize the rest of us.
