I'm reporting back that my HEI conversion is complete and happily road tested.
It's better than I expected.

I originally was skeptical about folks who might know Tom Langdon promoting his products. Not the case.
Tom Langdon is a knowledgeable Stovebolt expert and a non-renewable resource for us.

I installed Tom's HEI distributor in my 55.1 235 3100 5-window. Along with it, I changed plugs, ignition wires and coil.
Not only does my truck start quicker (1st turnover), but it runs smoother, and has no hesitation coming off a stop as it sometimes did before.

I'm thoroughly happy and would highly recommend the swap.

I visited Tom some years ago at his home to pick up a 261 short block, HEI and Holly-Weber carbs. I was very satisfied with the items. Also I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and a real gentleman. I'm glad things worked out for you too.
