I have an active post over in the Electrical forum, but I posted here just in case anyone can identify the origin of this set up. I’ve got two GM horns mounted on the driver’s side inner fender of my 1957 Chevy 1/2 ton. The horns are high and low tone. Here’s a picture…

The origin of that setup is someone's garage. Your truck came with one low note horn on drivers side radiator "tie bar". The only normal size truck with two horns was the Cameo.

Also we can not see a black bracket on a black inner fender background in a dim lighted photo. But that is OK, it's not a factory item. Don't think any one/dealer would sell a bracket with horns close together and not mounted up front for proper volume.

Interesting fact about the year 1957 Chevy truck. 65% of them, including $45,000 Barrett Jackson auction trucks and trucks in our gallery (40%), have the fender emblems on backwards.

Look on the cast side of the horns for a 3-digit number...that will help ID the horns. It will also be marked 12V. All of the GM cars used the Delco-Remy sea shell horns, so that set could have come off of one of the big cars from the late 50's.

I believe 1957 was the first year for the stamped steel cover like your right horn has...the earlier horns had a round (half of a sphere) cover.

The HI note horn was an accessory on the TF trucks and was mounted on the passenger side of the radiator core support...it's a mirror image of the LOW horn

Thanks guys for the info. I’m leaning toward moving them to radiator support especially to separate them . That makes sense to me.
