I am going to be back in the US for 8 months and I plan to rebuild my 46 chevy 3/4 ton that has been in storage for 7 years. (putting in a rebuilt 261, T5 tranny to get overdrive, overdirve and putting in a 4.10 rear end) I am thinking of converting to LPG. I have found a couple of sites where they have fully converted to LPG, no gas at all. I am thinking of going duel fuel. Has anyone tried this, what are the disadvantages of going to duel vs fully LPG? Where do I find the duel fuel carbs?

I am new to this group and am having problems finding my way around. How would I get hold of the author to get more technical information. Like who made the various components he used?

He also contributes to this forum from time to time and has(d) a profile you can view and access his contact info. He and I have exchanged emails about this topic and he is a very knowledgable and helpful man. I also found a great online article about an LPG only conversion that will probably have some useful info here . I hope this helps you. Good Luck! :p

I drove a BMW where if you ran out of one fuel you could just flick a switch and start running on the other again. There must still be guys that did those conversions back in the 70s and 80s around. Over here in the US it was mostly City and County vehicles that were converted. If I remember right all you needed was some minor carburator work.
