Can't figure out how to get it into the dash hole. it's looped at the end so you can't slide the nut & washers of the cable and slip it through the hole. don't think i can cut the cable and re-loop it because it's a very stiff cable. am i missing something???

What dash hole are you talking about? I wasn't aware of any factory hole for a heater control cable on AD trucks. Weren't all heaters after market add-ons?
