Hello, My name is Don and I am a new poster on here. I’ve been looking over much of the material here for awhile, but thought it was time to say hello and to ask a question. I am doing a complete ground up restoration on my ‘51 3600. The engine was a decent runner when I got the project, so I have just been going through it without rebuilding it. In a moment of stupidity, I broke off the return oil line mounted on the rocker shaft. See photo. Before I start disassembling the rocker shaft, I thought I’d check and see if anyone else has ever had this problem and has a good fix without tearing into it. Thanks! Don
Don't discard that one. It's very "fixable", but it will need to be removed from the rocker shaft so it can be clamped in a drill press vise to remove the broken off stub. Then the same tube can be plugged into the hole and silver soldered back into place. It might require a little careful re-bending to make it fit and clear the rocker shaft after the soldering job.
