Three of my trucks original rims have elongated studs holes and am having trouble finding replacements that fit the 4.75” hubs. I’m wondering if the 5.25” hub from a 54 or later uses the same bearings and will fit on the 53? Would that be consider cheating on a restoration project? Also, the brake drums would need to fit existing shoes.

If the bolt pattern is the same, use the later wheels with a spacer. AA makes such. State truck in your description, pictures always help!

Probably need to supply dimensions!

Greasy knuckles I don't think much is considered cheating on these trucks if you can get on the road. If it's safe do what you have to to get running and have brakes !
