My brother in law took some photos of my truck on the day it arrived at my other brother in laws. Even has it coming off the ferry from Everet,WA to Clinton, WA. The truck has 33,000 miles on it, big six, two speed rear end, and is in the process of getting the new vin plate. Looking forward to getting into Canada and putting a deck on it. Wish it had a tilt on it. I saw the link on this site for building a deck. Giving me good ideas. I want to haul my 1955 Oliver Super 55 on it to local shows. I am just shade tree mechanic, and want this for a retirement project in 5 years. I probably paid too much for it, but it is pretty good for it's age. It was a water truck for a fire hall out east in during it's life.

Are there some good books on the old big bolts, and are there reprints of owners manuals and shop manuals.

Thanks for the information everyone. I should have this truck on my property in a couple of weeks. I almost forgot that I had a stovebolt back in the early 70's when I owned a 1965 long bed. It had a 6 cylinder, and three on the tree. I bought it for $250 dollars from a gas station. They used it for a parts hauling truck and there wasn't a panel on it that didn't have a dent. The gas station was a Citgo, from Liberty, New York where my uncle the veternarian was living. I sold the truck to a buddy after about four years for $150. I did a valve job, which included milling the head for $28 back then. I also replaced the first / reverse gear. Had a bit of trouble because the guys at the station put in a station wagon tranny. The inside gears were cut a a slightly different angle. So when I tried putting the replacement gear on, it would start onto the cluster gear, but would lock up. Got the right one on the trip back to the parts store.

Nice looking truck. What type of body are you going to put on the back, wood or steel? It sure would look good with a wooden 16 foot platform body with short oak sides.

I haven't decided. But my thinking is a wooden bed. Most likely have a headache rack, I will be using this truck to haul my antique tractor.

Sure would like to see the tractor too. I've had Oliver's before, pretty decent tractor. It was the first one we had that had live hydraulics and PTO.
