The reason for my concern is that I have a 1961 chevy 4x4 and I am trying to covert it to a V8 and cant find motor mounts. but if 63's have the same frame I can get a parts pickup Thanks and any help will be greatly apprciated Thansk again Brian :confused: | | |

The 1960-62 Chevy trucks had the torsion bar setup up front, with a "X" member in the middle of the frame. The 1963-66 Chevy trucks had coils up front. The only thing a '63 has in common with the 60-62's is it has the same sheet metal.
If you want to drop in a V8 all you'll need is the motor mount brackets oout of a 67-72 Chevy truck, and will have to drill some holes, other than that you should be ready to drop in a V8. Also are you gonna put in a automatic, or keep the manual transmission? Also is it a original "K" series 4x4? Most of the ones around here are on late 70's Gm truck chassis.

GM scrapped it in the end of 62 :confused: cuz it wasn't cost effective so went with the ol' coils up front. On another note I dunno if anyone has this setup on a 65 or something but I was ponderin about putting a 350 out of a burb and a T-5 outta s-10 I just love the sound of an 8 but just an idea I was crackin at.

Also Chevy used the SB V8 from 1960-66 so you just need to find a spare parts truck that had a V8. also I guess you mite find them from one of the old part vendors. | | |

Check your assembly manual,(mine's not here!) and get the P/N for the mounts. LMC may have something possibly. The junkyard will for sure!  | | |
