I am lost had a problem lost all clutch contact coming on from a ride with friends. stopped at bottom of uphill driveway to downshift into lower gear no contact to gear down, had to turn motor off shift into 1st and get into garage riding brake the whole way. after tearing down . a fellow art deco truck driver claims my rod setup to be all wrong for my truck. was wondering if any of you other 215/235 4 speed truckers had any pics I could compare the setups. my tranny was incomplete when I put things together and had nothing to go on. the claim is that the shifting linkage (rod) is not correct on my truck and causing the clutch problems .hoping someone has some pics that shows what I'm missing ..
If I am reading his post title correctly, I think Fred has indicated he has a 1941 "AM" model pickup.
According to the 1929-41 Master Parts Listing, that model is the same as the "AK" 1/2 ton pick-up, bit with a 10-1/4' longer wheel base (and guessing longer bed) with longer springs and larger 14" brakes. See: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/parts/1929_41/41cpi03.html
I can't see the picture Fred tried to link either.
Will have to wait and see if you can provide a viewable picture and then we can try to better help with the problem.

sorry if it's all over my boss (wife) has to post the pics , my skills are very limited . yes my truck is a 1941 am with a wheelbase of 125" and a slightly larger cab, the brakes are 14" and we use the pics from the manual 114/115 to get things going. the eyebolt on my truck ws made by my machinist to mimic the one on fig 115, I have replaced the clutch fork ,wheel bearing, ball and spring. reading up on clutch and pressure plate wear they appear to be fine , so why can't I adjust my clutch to get some sort of pressure to ingage the tranny.
the bearing matches the one I putt in 4 years ago. the fork is a new one with some color matching paint, not bent. the clutch is 10 3/4 " , I've adjusted out to give it about a quarter " freeplay. the pics only show one spring in the setup , I have always use 2. 1 for return fork spring, 2 for adjustment of takeup pressure.
