Can anyone recommend a brake reliner near southeast Pennsylvania? I am very nervous about shipping my brake shoes out due to too many packages being lost recently.

Or.... does someone have some rear brake shoes they want to part with (4" x 15"). Truck is a 1954 4100.

Thanks

You may have the best luck looking for a truck with the same axle or brake setup I think some might have used the same shoes that size does sound similar to some I have but I will look

If I'm reading my parts book right those shoes were used from 1951 thru 64...

Place an ad in the "parts wanted" section and see what's out there!

Not in PA but I had the unobtanium shoes for my 3800 done here

I just insured the beegeesus out of the box sent them out there. They did an excellant job, and returned them quickly.
I would not be afeared to do it again.

I wanted to thank everyone for their responses. Ended up I really got lucky - Associated Truck Parts in Gilbertsville PA does them in house. And they are literally within 5 minutes of my home! Thought I would share that in case anyone else in my area is looking.

Take care,

Scott

stouchton You might look around your school bus supplier places for 4x15,maybe find a place that can reline yours. I done that in the 80's and with the right rivets and lining you could get a factory job on those ! Just saw you hit it...yea !!

This is where I sent mine as well, highly recommended. Shoes came back looking brand new, not only did they reline the shoes but painted them as well.

stouchton Did you know they made like an asbestos paper shim to put in under the lining ?? from what I could understand it's really important to not have space under there or they'll chatter. Never had that trouble I still have I think a bendix pedal machine that really puts the hammer on em .
