The number on the back is 3743368 the 1168 and 23 is all on the rear part of the transmission. Both of them use a Borg-Warner OD unit. The Muncie SM-319 has 4 bolts holding the side cover to the transmission case, and the Saginaw transmission has a 7 bolt cover. The Saginaw is an extremely scarce item. Both traqnsmissions require a push/pull cable to lock out the OD when trailer towing or descending long hills. There is also a control relay and a kickdown switch in the throttle linkage that should be scavenged from the donor vehicle.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

The casting number "3743368" can be traced back to the "main case" casting code number for the Muncie SM-319 (3-speed w/overdrive) and the Muncie SM-318 (3-speed). Same case used for both versions of this 3-speed.
The other numbers you provided "could" be casting date code numbers, but don't match up with known casting code info I could find???
Ed hit the nail on the head - a picture (or 3) with all these details clearly visible will go a long way in helping you ID what you have.

The earlier version (55-57) car and truck had no rear mount. If it has the solenoid and governor it should be a good find.

You can also post pics directly here from your computer (without them being on another website). To do that, you need to use the full editor and the attachment manager below the text entry box. That way they show up as thumbnails and can be opened and scrolled through.

Same basic application through 1965.
The rear mount pad was used on cars because of the X frame, not applicable to trucks. The lower bellhousing mount holes were
threaded on the truck case, It has the correct truck side cover as well.
