I have seen a lot of old tools but had no idea they would/could test the wiper arm pressure. One more item I am going to be looking for at the flea market before it is lost to history. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,361 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,361 | Dang! Another tool I didn’t know I needed. Good info.

Little advertising on FB and I am sure there would be 100's of idiots rolling in to have their WP pressure tested. There was lots of cool old stuff back then. Similar to fan belt tension gauges.

My impression has been the the replacement arms come with a way too beefy of a spring. That gizmo would confirm or disprove that assumption.

I also have a couple of the fish gauges. They are used for threading on a lathe. They help to grind perfect 60° threading tools, set the tool perpendicular to the piece threaded in the lathe and give dimensions for the depth of thread for a particular thread count. Kind of like a carpenters square for machinist.

I do have a belt tension gage, for my Harleys drive belt. Wrong tension and they eat themselves and the pulleys, gets expendy! 1956 GMC 370 dump " 'Tater "1970 VW Volksrod "the Black Bomber" 2007 Chevy Avalanche 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, 2005 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans.
