In my quest for a 3spd transmission for my 1946 1/2 ton truck᠁.I may have found one. The unit I have found is stamped 591195. From everything I’ve heard, this is the trans that fits my stock 1946 truck. It has a date code stamped on it , K 12 6.

Can anyone confirm this is the correct transmission for my truck, before I buy it?

What does that date code mean, K 12 6?

That casting number is correct for 1941-47 commercial trucks.

The date code K 12 6

K = Month (November)
12 = Day
6 = Year (1946)

The seller has the transmission listed for sale on an internet site. I’d hate to post his photos somewhere else without his permission, out of respect. But the numbers in question are definitely stamped on the case.

However, the seller thinks it is fur an earlier truck, from the late 30’s. I recognized the number as being for the 41-47᠁..but wanted some other input before I bought it.

591195
K 12 6

591195 indicates it's a 41-47 transmission.
Verified by the 29-54 parts catalog listing.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
