I have a Pertronix 40,000v 1.5ohm coil but I'm wondering if I should have a 3.0ohm coil. I don't see the ohms stamped on my stock NAPA no resistor required coil. The stock distributor will be used for installing the ignitor. Thank you for answer. 1.5 or 3 ohm coil? They work great, until they don't. AAA is a must have.
When they do work, they don't work any better than a fresh set of points and a good capacitor.
If my points become not-so-fresh while I am out on the road, I know that all I need to do is clean them up somewhat to get me home.

Those who have had good luck with Pertronix swear by them. All I can say is if you do convert to Pertronix carry in your glovebox a set of points, condenser and rotor along with the hardware and tools to install them. It’s called being prepared.

There's a hole in the passenger's side of the engine block that's designed to hold it- - - -put the Pertronix distributor in a cardboard box under the seat and it will never cause you any trouble!
