When i got the truck there were no defroster hoses left, rotted away. Just the spiral wire was left there. When routing the left defroster hose past the cowling duct in the center, if front or behind the center duct? My center duct is not installed yet, it will be painted with the cab eventually. I had no reference when I removed the heater.

The cowl vent? If so, it shouldn't matter, I believe the defrost duct to the driver's side routed below the cowl vent. You just want it so it doesn't get pinched by the linkage for the cowl vent operator.

Cut to a bit longer than what you need - the compression on the spring inside the hose will keep it in place. That's a brilliant idea. More durable than the "repro" defroster ducting I've bought too - funny as I knew it reminded me of something, but I never keyed in. For those of us nowhere near a vaccuum cleaner store, they do sell the shop vac type hoses in various sizes at Rona/Canadian Tire and other places.
