Can I swop out the rear end from a 51 3600 to a 51 3800 without an issue and are they geared the same? Thank you in advance, Gerry Lee

I have no 1st person experience, but 1929-1954 Chevrolet Master Parts Catalog lists the same part number (3694914) for '50 to '52 3/4 and 1 ton trucks axle housings. I can't find ring and pinion sets in my Chevy MPC (3 pages missing), but GMC Master Parts Book shows 4.57:1 as standard for 3/4 ton with 5.14:1 as an option. Same book shows only 5.14:1 available on GMC 1 toms.

'57 GMC 102, Original 347 V8, HydraMatic, 3.08 rear gear, added A/C, disk front brakes, HEI, AFB carb, '98 Honda Black Currant paint. T-boned and totaled 10/12
'52 GMC 152 Stake Bed, Original 228, SM420, added A/C, HEI, disk front brakes, '67 Chev 3.55 rear gear. Gets used as a real truck.
