This ‘62 has been in the family since new, but recently was adopted by me. I’m not sure that is a good thing᠁.it needs much. Roughly 12k miles and until the last 10 years was always stored inside; the harsh Montana sun did not help it. 261 with no compression on 3. Valve perhaps? 4 speed (no 2 sp axle), hoist, grain sides (which will come off for stakesides no doubt, this thing will not be doing farm work any longer) Going to drag it to the shop and come up with a plan. Has anyone put newer front suspension on one of these? (It has ball bearings and awful brakes). I did do a ‘86 front crossmember to a ‘64 c10 and it was super easy᠁.and worth it. Anyway, plans to come to bring this c40 back to life!!

Looks like you've got your *ride* covered. Looks like a great project. Excited to hear that you hope to bring the '62 back to life.
If you have some questions as you go along, most truck-related questions are generally covered in THE SHOPS area.
I see you have the picture posting down. It's always a treat to have images.
So post a few greetings in a few spots and before you know it, you'll be over the five posts needed to give you all the privileges of Stovebolt.
Looking forward to hearing more.
And Welcome.

Glad to see another family owned truck staying in the family and heading for some rejuvenating.
It looks like you have a very good starting point IMHO and look forward to seeing you future posts and questions so we can try and help you out getting it back on the road.

A couple broken legs have slowed my summer, but just prior I was able to get the grain sides off and paid my niece to remove the rotten wood (2”thick!!) The C40 will now be a winter project when I get it off the farm, and I picked up a reasonably complete ‘66 SBSS
Edit 8/11/23 by Peggy. Moved the discussion on the 66 to the 60-66 forum.

Sorry to hear about the broken legs (ouch). From your posts, it looks like you have managed to round up plenty of stuff to keep you busy this winter.
Keep us posted and add pictures as you can.
